Hearts of Pine and The Ghost of Paul Revere are rooted in different corners of Maine culture, but the connection between them has been there since the club’s earliest days. Ballad of the 20th Maine, written by Griffin Sherry and performed by The Ghost of Paul Revere, has become part of the ritual of a Hearts of Pine matchday, sung by supporters before every home match at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

The song itself reaches much further than soccer. Inspired by the story of the 20th Maine at Little Round Top and told through the perspective of flag bearer Andrew Tozier, the ballad has become synonymous with Maine pride for generational Mainers and those who have more recently come to call Maine home. Its story of resilience, community and standing together feels deeply connected to the ethos of Hearts of Pine: a club built around a shared love of this place and the belief that something powerful happens when Mainers come together.

This collaboration grew from that shared story and love of Maine. For the collection, Griffin returned to Maine history for inspiration, creating original artwork based on the crest of the State of Maine and reimagining it with a little Ghost and Hearts of Pine spirit. The result brings together music, soccer, art and history in a way that feels distinctly Maine, carrying a story from our past into the traditions we’re creating today.
